The Woollen Pig is named after the owner, Vici’s two dogs, Wool and Pig.
Pig was Vici’s first dog, a rescue who won the hearts of everyone she is around. She also became the pinacle of the family.
Wool, a rescue all the way from Transylvania (we still believe she may be part Wolf) then joined the family, albeit took a little while for her to warm to those around her, became part of the story…
The Woollen Pig was born, a staple in the community of Birkdale, Vici had the experience and knowledge and it became a huge success, a lovely deli which boasts a beautiful outdoor area, complete with twinkling fairy lights and a chilled out atmosphere.
A couple of years later arose a chance for Vici to expand, which led to the site in Crossens being born. A slightly different concept, a cosy, warming place to sit down and enjoy some tapas style dishes, as well as some staples which were created in Birkdale.
